Tainted Dreams - Black Lace Gloves

I've been having trouble remembering my dreams. As the mind becomes more mature and complex, it finds new and clever ways to trick and hide things from itself. It used to be that I'd just forget the dream in those few seconds after awakening. But now, when trying to recall the latest dream, I have found evidence that I'm corrupting the memory, tainting it with bits and pieces (sometimes whole subjects) from other dreams. Recurring ideas, desires, compositions and references that weren't in the original dream. I can tell they weren't there nowadays. They are intrusions, like that freight train in Inception.

Allow me to give a few examples.
One of the most common intrusions is the full concept of a journey. Because of past dreams that were recalled in great length in which I travelled, I developed this tendency to start my recollections in the morning with "I think I was traveling to... where?" But I've noticed this comes mostly of a desire to travel, rather than from actually doing so in the dream. It is more of a compulsion and sometimes it wasn't actually there in the dream.
Last night I caught another one. It was a dream in which I was assisting the arrival of a couple of travel buses with my students at a huge hotel lobby. I felt on display for them, as if I wanted to reassure them that one of the teachers they liked was there to take care of them. At the same time, I was going through the faces on those bus windows, looking for specific students that I liked in order to have the same reassurance that it was going to be a fun event (whatever it was we were arriving at...). Now, as I was showing myself to them, I leaned on one of the white pillars of the hotel lobby in a way that I had my left arm and hand in view. And in my recollection, I was wearing a moss green felt jacket and black lace gloves. But that wasn't there. It's hard to explain how I'm sure it wasn't there in the original dream, but I can say there is a sense of doubt, and a parallel memory of that arm being bare and the hand ungloved. And I know for a fact that this particular reference came from watching a couple of hours of a new Castlevania game last night, in which a character was wearing them.

I'm a purist when it comes to dreams, and I like to keep mine neat, just the way they came to me. My therapist, however, believes there is a lot to be understood from these freudian slips. For one thing, I understand I am placing myself again in the alter ego of a little girl, as I had done with Alice and the Butcher's Daughter. This character (Laura, from Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Reverie) has the added bonus of being a vampire (and wearing goth lace), therefore tying in with my third and more recent alter ego.
But there is also another thing about this. Laura is a character that constantly taunts the main character with how powerful she is. She flaunts her power with all the sordidness of a child. But all the while, there is an element of helplessness and frailty to her. At one point, she asks the main character not to leaver her alone ever again. And though she boasts about how all the threats in the game are mere entertainment for her and that she will teach her foes a lesson, it always sounds to me more like she is trying to convince herself that there is no real danger there. She seems emotionally fragile.
I believe that element was placed there not only because I watched that game before going to bed, but also because this is somewhat how I feel with my students. Flaunting enormous power as an authority, a teacher, to hide an emotional frailty.
